25th Annual General Meeting

The Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors had its 25th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the “Cleopatra” hotel in Nicosia.

The President of the Board of Directors Mrs. Anna Zavou Christoforou welcomed all those present. The Minister of Finance, Mr. Makis Keravnos, honored us with his presence and gave a speech. Moreover, honored us with her presence the Deputy Minister to the President Mrs. Irene Piki on behalf of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, and gave a short address.  Among our distinguished guests were also Members of the House of Representatives and representatives of Political Parties.

At the Annual General Meeting, honorary plaques were awarded by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Makis Keravnos and the President of our Institute Mrs. Anna Zavou Christoforou, to Institute members who succeeded in the CIA exams over the last twelve months, acquiring the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) professional qualification.

On behalf of the Institute, the President Mrs. Anna Zavou Christoforou awarded commemorative plaques to the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Niko Christodoulide and to the Minister of Finance Mr. Maki Keravno.

With the completion of the ritual part, the other procedures of the Annual General Meeting followed. The Board’s Annual Report was submitted by the President of the Institute, the Annual Audited Financial Statements for the year ended December 31, 2022 were approved, the Independent Auditor of the Institute for the year 2023 was appointed.

No elections were held for the six vacant positions of the Board members, since there were only six applications.
